Refund and Cancellation Policy
To reduce last-minute cancellations and the risk of chargebacks, it’s best to get your clients' agreement on your cancellation and refund policy. This should be attached to customer orders for future reference.
In this article, we’ll help you define your cancellation and refund policy. Let’s start by answering these questions:
- When must clients notify you before the actual event date to cancel?
- Will you keep their payment and offer store credit instead?
By answering these questions, you can create very simple and basic policies, like this: To receive a refund, clients must notify at least 4 days before the event starts. In all other cases, only store credit is provided.
Below are sixgreat examples of cancellation and refund policies:
- Due to limited space, we ask you to cancel at least 48 hours before a scheduled class. This allows us to fill the spot. You may cancel by phone or online. If you cancel your class, we’ll offer account credit if canceled before 48 hours, but no refunds. You can use these credits for any future class. If you don’t cancel before 48 hours, you forfeit the class payment. The owner reserves the right to be flexible.
- Cancellations made 7 days or more before the event date will receive a 100% refund. Cancellations made within 3 to 6 days will incur a 20% fee. Cancellations made within 48 hours of the event will incur a 30% fee.
- I understand that I'm booking a spot, so reservations for this event are non-refundable. If I can't attend, I understand I may transfer my spot to a friend.
- If you cancel at least 24 hours before the class, you’ll receive a full refund. If canceled less than 24 hours before, you’ll receive a gift voucher for a future class. We’ll do our best to meet your needs.
- You may cancel your class up to 24 hours before it starts and request a full refund. If canceled on the same day, you’ll receive credit to reschedule at a later date. Credit must be used within 90 days.
- You may request a full ticket refund up to 72 hours before the event. Cancellations made between 25 and 72 hours before may be rescheduled for another date/time of the same class. Cancellation requests made less than 24 hours prior may not be eligible for refund or rescheduling. By registering for a class, you accept these terms.
